A massive fire destroyed the main stage at the
Tomorrowland
festival in Boom, Belgium, in July 2025, but the event still went ahead as planned. Thousands of campers arrived at the campsite (DreamVille) a day after the fire.
Event details
The fire broke out on Wednesday, July 16, around 6 PM local time. No one was injured, but the “Orbyz” main stage was completely lost. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, though speculation suggested it might be related to pyrotechnic testing.
Organizers worked tirelessly and remarkably built a new, functional main stage in less than 48 hours for the festival’s opening on Friday. The festival, expected to draw 400,000 people over two weekends, proceeded successfully.
